Footsteps Day Nursery SNOW / ADVERSE WEATHER POLICY Following legal advice, the following applies to any adverse weather or heavy snow fall incidents. Unfortunately, due to health and safety considerations, there might be occasions through the winter when snow or adverse weather might disrupt our service at the nursery. Please be assured that we will make every effort to keep the nursery open, but, please be aware that, in severe weather conditions, we might have to contact you to inform you that the nursery has to close. We listen to weather, news and road reports to keep us informed and help us make the right decisions for the safety of the children, the parents and our staff. We will endeavour to transfer telephone calls from the Nursery to a member of staff for parents to contact us if they are concerned about any snow fall in the morning, before the nursery opens. However, please telephone us on the mobile numbers below to find out about the current situation. Jackie – 07815155550 Wayne – 07966773748 We will use facebook, the page is ‘Footsteps Nursery’ our website, www.footstepsdaynursery.co.uk and the Caerphilly councils website, to give you an up to date review of any snow situation. Parents are encouraged to telephone for updates throughout the day if there is snow fall. If there is an indication from the news or weather reports that the weather is deteriorating, resulting in the nursery needing to close, we will notify parents by telephone and advise them accordingly. If, in extremely severe snow, the nursery does not open, we reserve the right to charge for that day as stated in the parent’s contract. However, as a gesture of goodwill, an alternative day will be offered for your child to attend. Jackie Sebury January 2013 |
