Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will find plenty of information here about our award winning nurseries, situated in the historical town of Caerphilly, South Wales, and also in Pentrebach, Merthyr Tydfil.
At Footsteps, we care for babies and children aged 6 weeks up to 11 years old, giving parents a complete childcare service. We provide a wide range of childcare services from full and part-time day care to wrap-around care for school age children, and Early Years Education.
Situated in the village of Llanbradach, a few minutes drive from the town of Caerphilly, we are lucky to have a wonderful building which has been restored and converted from a former Police Station built in 1907. Our premises in Pentrebach, Merthyr Tydfil are on Merthyr Tydfil Industrial Park, close to the A470 , and the town centre of Merthyr Tydfil. Both nurseries are homely and friendly, and we have built up an excellent reputation since we opened in 2003.
In both settings, children are cared for in small groups by qualified, caring staff. As well as our day nursery facilities we offer before and after school clubs and holiday clubs for children up to 11 years old. We operate a ‘school run’ service taking children to, and collecting them from school.
The early years in a child’s life are so important, so the staff at Footsteps are hand picked and truly understand the special world of childhood. Some of our staff are fluent Welsh speakers. It is our aim to make everyday that your child spends with us a special day. We have a fully co-ordinated programme of activities and learning opportunities, where your child’s development is carefully monitored. We follow the Birth to Three matters framework for children under 3, followed by the Foundation Phase principles for our pre-school and Early Years Education children.
In Caerphilly we are registered Early Years Education providers, fully registered and inspected with the Local Education Authority and Estyn. We were inspected by Estyn in October, 2012. The report states that we achieved a 'GOOD' for each of the three Key Questions, and highlights much of the good practice which is carried out daily at Footsteps. We also intend to become registered Early Years Education providers in our Pentrebach nursery.
We are award winning nurseries, winning awards from business forums, and the National Day Nurseries Association. We have also been awarded the Investors In People status, demonstrating our commitment to staff training and development. We also belong to several organisations such as the National Day Nurseries Association, Clybiau Plant Cymru, and Wales Pre-school Playgroups Association.
